Link is Ready For Action!

"Toasty..."

date: November 9, 2008

Ha ha, if only the Zelda: The Ocarina of Time's Great Deku Tree dungeon was that easy to beat just by torching it down. Nice unique cartoon graphics (bright, vibrant + smooth animation), effective moody dungeon music (straight from the N64 classic) and cool voice acting (especially screams of agony as the Great Deku roasts).

I liked how you kept link silent like in Ocarina with only Navi having vocals offering him tips. The funny ending by having the characters shift the blame something else was hilarious. I think it might have been cool if you had Saria or some of the other inhabitants from Kokiri Forest pop up asking "What the heck just happened?" at the end.

It be great to see more funny escapades of the accident-prone LInk and Navi in the Land of Hyrule. Keep it up!

Fish CATcher

"Fantastic fishy fun.."

submission: Fish CATcher
date: November 1, 2008

I liked the concept of the ocean diving fish gobbling cat. A nice challenge with avoiding the dragon fly when replenishing your oxygen and not taking damage from the sea worms. The music was a nice lively tropical sounding jingle that went well with the colorful vibrant graphics and smooth character animations. Nice selection of fish to dine on each with different point values, good responsive controls and authentic "meow" effects.

I think it be cool to add some sort of death animation once the feline's health hit's zero; perhaps the dead-man's float? It be nice if there was at least a 3 second invincibility delay after taking damage. I'd get hit by the dragonfly, get knocked down into a worm then get knocked back up into that pesky fly (or vice-versa) resulting in several short plays. Also an occasional oxygen filler bubble power-up much like the health bubble power-up and worm buster bubble power-up would be nice especially when things got a little hairy.

Otherwise, a very good game indeed. I look forward to your future Newgrounds flash submissions.

Catch The Coin

"Game winning catch..."

submission: Catch The Coin
date: October 23, 2008

I like the simple premise and mechanics of the game of catching the coins while avoiding the enemies and racking up a monstrous score. It would be awesome to see some power-ups in the next release such as a shield that would deflect the enemies (maybe a 3 hit counter before it depletes). Player attacks like a shock-wave to shatter the red minions (perhaps 1 shot per unit) or some 5-second invisibility or invincibility rush. Of course more enemies would appear to replace the fallen. Perhaps include various higher point value coins that appear for a limited time (3 or more for some chain-reaction-combo-points?).

I liked the health meter especially when things got hectic; maybe include some sort of health bonus items to appear every so often. Could you add a death-type animation when the player's health counter hits 0? Some various sized enemies or even walls within the game-field (e.g. lined with spikes, electricity or fire etc.) to avoid would also add to the challenge.

I am sure that the next release of "Catch the Coin" you will include a rocking soundtrack, more sound effects and some varied backgrounds (themed-levels?). I look forward to it.

Ninjato Bubble Quest 1

"Great start..."

date: April 19, 2008

It would be nice to see an addition of special object or item collecting in future updates such as treasure: coins, jewels or power-ups (stronger bubble armor/mini-invincibility). It will add an extra incentive (higher score, bonus features) besides making it to the end alive. The spikes were a little hard to see, due to there transparency they disappeared into the blue background. It would be fun to see themed levels, such as forest, ocean and sky/space (maybe 3 levels per world) as a variation. Moving enemies, clouds or walls (e.g. -blockades, opening/closing doorways/gates) would also up the ante, forcing the user to use evasive maneuvers to stay in the air. Make the player sweat! Sound effects please, like a "pop" when crashing into walls/enemies or a whoosh when touching the exit portal. I liked the simple looped music. Look forward to the next installment of Ninjato Bubble Quest with more challenging levels of high flying bubble insanity.

All Out: B.A. Shootout

"Nice job..."

date: October 12, 2004

Liked the game alot. Some ideas for improvement. Add some music and more sound effects, such as screams (when enemies hit) and bullet ricochets. Have some objects in the playing field take damage from the bullets (windows, dents in garage bins). Have more death animations for enemies depending on where they are hit (arm, head, chest). Plus more enemies to kill. Add some levels, maybe add a boss at the end of each. More weapons with different crosshairs for each (eg- shotgun has wider spread). Give the player some health otherwise it's pointless, no challange if you take no damage. Though I liked the game, good job! Hope to see more of your work in the future.

The Puppet

"That was awsome..."

submission: The Puppet
date: October 9, 2004

That was one great movie, loved the your style of art, music and sound was well chosen. Backgrounds were detailed, character designs were unique and the animation smooth. Liked how the whole movie was black and white except for the blood. The tank bit made me laugh. The Puppet ruled. Good job, hope to see more of your work in the future.

GG - 11/25: Dual_Glock

"Hmm..."

date: September 4, 2004

Very good, the animation was smooth and the characters where well designed. I didn't really like the choice of music, found it distracting, didn't really fit what was being shown. The movie did go a little slow, some scenes seemed to drag a little too long. Try not to always revert to a black screen from scene to scene. Backgrounds fit the characters, though they could use a little more detail. Fight scenes ended too quickly (e.g. - the one punch knockout). Overall good job! Look forward to the next episode.

Author's Response:

Cool, thanks for the advice!

i am aware of the chopy animation but i did know how to fix it, because it was already running at 40 frames per second, i think it is because i run it on a pentium 4 3.0ghz computer which makes it smooth.

Thanks again!

Zombies Hunter (shooter)

"Cool..."

date: August 28, 2004

Great graphic style, the gameplay was very good, this game could go far with some improvements. More zombies and varied death animations depending on where you shoot them, a weapon selection option. Include more levels besides a graveyard, maybe include a way choose several paths to take to reach the end. End of the level boss? Just some suggestions, overall the game was very well done. Music fit perfectly. Hope to see more of your work in the future.

Chrono Trigger Blade Duel

"Hey..."

date: August 27, 2004

Not bad. Good job with the sprites, the extra animations (wave slashes/bubbles) fit perfectly. I really liked how the battle moved from place to place. Good choice of Chrono Trigger music. Make the next one longer (story line perhaps?), and keep it in the confines of CT, there's been too many DBZ/Matrix influenced sprite movies. Overall, great job! Look forward to your future works.
